Cookie policy

Norra Skog uses cookies, web beacons and comparable technology on our website in order to offer you the best possible user experience, to analyse and improve our systems and services, and to be able to show you targeted ads for our products and services, even on other websites.

Purpose and scope

This Cookie policy describes how Norra Skog processes personal data when you use our websites and serves as a complement to our Privacy policy. The purpose of this policy is to provide you as a website visitor with information on how and why your personal data may be collected as part of your visit, how long it will be stored and how the processing can be managed or deactivated by you. Under the heading "Amend cookie settings" in this policy you will find information about cookie settings, there is also the option to revoke consent to cookies.

This policy may be amended or updated at any time. The latest version is always available on our website.

What are cookies?

When you visit a website, it may store or gather information in your web browser, mostly in the form of cookies. This information could be about you, your preferences or your device and is used mostly to make the website work in the way you would expect. The cookie settings you have chosen are saved in your web browser, for example.

What are cookies used for and for how long?

Cookies are usually used to remember you and your preferences, either for a single visit (a session cookie) or for multiple repeat visits (a persistent cookie). They ensure a consistent and efficient experience for you as a visitor and perform important functions that allow you to register and stay logged in. Cookies may be installed by the website you visit (known as first-party cookies, over which we have control), or by third parties, for example those serving up content or providing advertising or analysis services on the website (third-party cookies).

Persistent cookies are stored on your computer or phone for a prolonged period. They normally have a preset end date and are deleted when that date arrives. They can last for a maximum of 24 months. They will be removed earlier if the visitor chooses to delete cookies from their web browser.
Session cookies are stored temporarily on your computer or phone when you visit a website. They are deleted when the visitor closes their web browser.

Why do we use cookies?

Norra Skog uses cookies to customise content and ads, to maintain functions on social media and to analyse our traffic. Norra Skog also shares information about your use of our website with our social media, advertising and analysis partners. Data from such cookies may then also be used by the third party for e.g. metrics, statistics and advertising, along with the information that they gather independently. The information stored by such third-party cookies may be used by us to show you relevant ads for our products and services, even on other websites.

Cookies from third parties

Norra Skog’s website contains some embedded elements from external websites that are displayed via iframe. YouTube videos are a prime example. The website also uses plug-ins for sharing on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
These external sites may leave cookies on your computer or mobile device and transfer information to your account on social media, for example, if you are logged into their respective services.
Analytics and performance cookies are also used in connection with the services provided by a third party, e.g. Google Analytics.
In addition, this website may allow third parties such as Facebook to place cookies on the website that we can use for remarketing. Remarketing refers to interest-based advertising, where your behaviour on the website is used for targeted ads on other websites, along with information that such a third party gathers independently.

Cookies and consent

We respect your right to privacy and you can therefore easily deactivate and activate different types of cookies. Some cookies are necessary for the website to function properly, e.g. remembering your cookie settings, and therefore cannot be deactivated. Bear in mind that your choices may affect your experience of the website and the functions that are available.

Amend cookie settings

Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. If you do not want cookies to be stored on your computer, you can change the settings for this in your web browser. You can also delete existing cookies. The actual process can vary depending on which web browser you use, but you will generally be able to find the information through the web browser’s help function.

You can make your own choice about whether to accept cookies on your device. If you do not consent to our use of cookies, or if you have previously consented and since changed your mind, you can amend your cookie preferences at any time, as set out below. We classify cookies in the following categories:

Strictly necessary cookies
Analytic & marketing cookies
Cookies via embedded content

You can deselect any of the cookie categories (except strictly necessary cookies) by clicking on “cookie settings”.

If you delete all your cookies, you will need to change your settings with us again next time. If you use a different device or web browser, you will have to state your preferences again. If you change your cookie settings, some cookies may still be stored on your device. These can be removed manually in your web browser settings.

Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are those needed so that the website can function, and they therefore cannot be deactivated in our system. These cookies are usually only activated based on your own choices, such as remembering your cookie settings, logging in or filling in a form. You can set your web browser to block this type of cookie, but this may affect the website’s performance. These cookies do not store actual personal information. Instead, they are based on identifying your web browser and device.

Analytics & marketing cookies

Analytic cookies
These cookies allow Norra Skog to monitor traffic and sources in order to measure and improve the performance of our website. They help us to know which pages are most popular and to see how visitors move around the website. All the information that these cookies collect is aggregated and is therefore anonymised. If you choose to deactivate these cookies, Norra Skog will be less able to optimise the website’s performance and your future experience may therefore be negatively impacted.

Marketing cookies
These cookies may be installed via our website by our advertising partners and social media services. Anonymous data may be shared with third parties to create a profile of your preferences and show you relevant ads on other websites. They do not store any specific personal information. Instead, they are based on identifying your web browser and device and using that data to build up a profile.
Even if you choose to delete or deactivate these cookies, you will still see ads, but they may not be relevant to you. You will also not be able to use or see sharing tools for social media on our website.

Cookies via embedded content
We use embedded content (external partners’ websites displayed via iframe and embedded videos) on some of our web pages. Embedded content from other websites works in exactly the same way as if you were visiting the other website. These websites may set their own cookies over which we have no control.
If you do not approve cookies via embedded content, these external websites and videos will not be able to be displayed on our website.

Cookies and personal data

We do not use cookies to identify you as an individual or to store your personal data, unless you choose to register your contact details such as name, address, email address and forest property in any of our online forms. In such a case, you can choose to deregister yourself at any time by following the instructions in each mailing from us or by emailing us directly at GDPR@norraskog.se
