Norra Skog and Norra Timber are committed to meeting the requirements of the regulation no later than this date. From the application date onward, all products covered by the regulation that we place on the EU market or export from the EU will be accompanied by a Due Diligence Statement (also referred to as FOTA in Swedish or DDS in short). This includes reference and verification numbers according to the EU’s TRACES system, in accordance with Article 3 of the regulation.
What is EUDR?
EUDR (EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products) is a new regulation that replaces the EU Timber Regulation and extends due diligence requirements to more commodities, including wood. The regulation aims to ensure that products sold within the EU do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation.
Article 3 of the regulation explicitly prohibits placing or making available relevant commodities and products unless all the following conditions are met:
- They are deforestation-free.
- They have been produced in accordance with the relevant legislation of the country of production.
- They are covered by a Due Diligence Statement.
Norra Skog and Norra Timber’s commitment and preparations
Norra Skog is committed to compliance with the EUDR and will be in full compliance by December 30, 2025. We have a team reviewing our value chain—from raw material sourcing to customer delivery—to ensure traceability and access to accurate data.
Due Diligence process and the TRACES system
In connection with forestry operations, a Due Diligence Statement with geolocation data is submitted to the EU’s TRACES system. A reference number is then issued and follows the product throughout the supply chain, ensuring traceability and compliance with EUDR requirements.
What customers can expect
As a customer of Norra Skog and Norra Timber, you can expect to receive the necessary information and reference numbers in a timely manner, in accordance with the European Commission’s guidelines.
