Hammerdal painting factory

At our factory in Hammerdal we process and paint exterior panels, creating the ideal conditions for the wood, paint, moisture content and surface treatment process.

Quality‑assured painting process

At our painting facility in Hammerdal, we prime and apply intermediate coats to exterior cladding made from northern Swedish spruce, using high-quality paints from several leading paint manufacturers. The quality of our painted exterior panels is assured in accordance with the paint suppliers’ guidelines, allowing us to offer a full ten-year guarantee on painted products.

Operating our own painting facility gives us full control over the production process and ensures a high level of quality and precision at every stage of manufacturing. It also enables us to adapt and tailor solutions to meet specific customer needs and project requirements.

History

Hammerdal has a long history as an agricultural and forestry community, where the local economy was primarily based on these traditional industries. During the early and mid‑20th century, gradual industrialisation took place in many parts of Sweden, including Jämtland. This period saw the emergence of small and medium-sized industries that complemented the traditional sectors. Given the proximity to forests, the timber industry became a natural part of this development, leading to the establishment of companies such as Hammerdal Hyvleri and, later on, painting facilities. These businesses processed locally sourced timber into products used in construction and other applications.

Today, Norra Timber operates its painting facility in the Hammerdal industrial area, focusing on surface treatment of wood products. This involves treating and painting wood products to enhance their durability, appearance, and protection against weather exposure and other external influences.
