Sävar takes the lead in CT scanning – every log optimized

Norra Timber’s sawmill in Sävar is on its way to becoming one of the most modern in the world. With CT scanning technology – similar to that used in hospitals – and a new log sorting system, every log will be scanned upon arrival. This makes it possible to extract maximum value from every tree. “There is no better equipment in the world,” says Fredrik Samuelsson, Sawmill Manager at Sävar.

The board of Norra Skog has decided to invest SEK 100 million in upgrading the Hissmofors sawmill. The investment is part of the forest owner cooperative’s broader strategy to build strong, modern, and efficient industrial operations.

Swedish parliamentary committee overlooks forestry’s biggest climate benefit
