Norra Timber’s sawmill in Sävar is on its way to becoming one of the most modern in the world. With CT scanning technology – similar to that used in hospitals – and a new log sorting system, every log will be scanned upon arrival. This makes it possible to extract maximum value from every tree. “There is no better equipment in the world,” says Fredrik Samuelsson, Sawmill Manager at Sävar.

Norra Timber, the industrial division of Norra Skog, is taking a strategic step forward with a major investment in a new bin sorter and a modern stacker at its sawmill in Hissmofors. The investment is part of a larger program of approximately SEK 150 million – the largest single investment at the sawmill since the early 1980s.
