Tegsnäs Group is located in Tegsnäset and Vindeln, and has developed since its founding in 1907 – from ski manufacturing to a versatile timber group with packaging, building materials, logistics, and houses.
In 2008, brothers Jimmy and Benny Nilsson took over the business from their father and his colleague Håkan, and they have continued to develop the company. Today, the group has a turnover of around 250 million SEK, with 20–25 percent of production being exported. What has truly made the collaboration successful is Norra Timber’s investment in CT scanners and modern log sorting. The CT technology identifies the internal characteristics of the logs in detail and allows for sorting each log from start to finish according to customer specifications. The result is less waste, better quality, and a better working environment.
“With our CT scanners, we can produce a product that perfectly fits their needs,” says Niclas Johansson, Product Manager at Norra Timber.
The relationship between Tegsnäs Group and Norra Timber is marked by flexibility and trust. There are no heavy volume contracts – just ongoing dialogue about needs, deliveries, and timing.
“We agree on price and dimensions as needed. Benny gets in touch if they have a surplus, and then we take it from there,” says Niclas.
“Yes, Norra Timber understands our needs and delivers custom-made solutions. It increases the value at every level – economy, work environment, and quality,” says Benny Nilsson.
Benny emphasizes that the collaboration between Norra Timber and Tegsnäs Group is more than just a supplier–customer relationship.
“It’s a relationship that unites innovation, flexibility, and longterm commitment. We have a close, long-lasting collaboration. Norra Timber is skilled at understanding our needs. Their ability to customize for the customer creates significant added value for us – and that’s something we will continue to build on,” he says.
