Norra Timber’s current packaging consists of 30 percent recycled plastic, but the company’s long-term goal is to use 100 percent recycled plastic. This step is crucial in reducing negative impact on the environment, as well as meeting increasing customer demand for more environmentally-friendly business practices.

Wilma Sundqvist, who is a salesperson for animal bedding at Norra Timber, shares her thoughts about the new initiative, as well as why the quality of the new packaging can never be compromised during the company’s transition to more sustainable materials.

“Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many admiring Norra Timber’s commitment to using more environmentally-friendly packaging”, says Wilma.

She points out that customer awareness and their demands for environmentallyfriendly alternatives are only expected to increase, which motivates the company in its sustainable development efforts.

“Many of our customers already work to improve the environment and contribute as much as they can. I believe the demands from our customers will become even greater when it comes to environmental issues, which is why we need to be as climate-smart as possible”, says Wilma.

Wilma, who is an active horse enthusiast and competes in jumping with her own horse, understands the importance of using products that are kind to both animals and the environment. Norra Timber stable litter is particularly suitable for horses, poultry and clinics that demand high levels of cleanliness. Norra Timber’s closed and well controlled manufacturing process ensures that only dry and mold-free raw materials are used, while the absence of dust in the bales helps create a soft and airy bed with a low risk of fungus or mold. This makes the product ideal for creating a healthy environment for both animals and humans.

Norra Timber’s investment in sustainable packaging is another example of how companies can take responsibility for their impact on the environment while meeting increasing demands from customers for environmentally-friendly solutions. With continued innovation and a commitment to sustainability, Norra Timber is striving to make a positive difference to people and the planet.
